Coca-Cola set to discontinue the Nestea drink and launch “FUZE” iced tea in Canada in January 2025. Published December 14, 2024. Written by Anuj Basak. https://www.soapcentral.com/lifestyle/news-coca-cola-set-discontinue-nestea-drink-launch-fuze-iced-tea-starting-place-january-2025
The Coca-Cola company has controversial, yet interesting plans for the new year. Starting January 1st of 2025, Coca-Cola will be discontinuing the Nestea drink in Canada because a new partnership had been launched. A long-term agreement was signed between Keurig Dr Pepper Canada and Nestle Canada to manufacture, market and distribute the drink starting the new year, as well as to undergo future plans of launching "FUZE," a new iced tea brand. It is interesting because a new partnership means huge advancements in marketing and new developments, and this also "[enhances] Nestea's brand image and market strategy through product launches and expanded availability." As soon as the information was released on several platforms, many were terrified. To me, the thought of Nestea being gone for good is like thinking of losing a loved one. The drink was something I've had from the beginning of my childhood, and it was the only type of pop I could ever drink, even until now. The sole thought of not being able to drink it anymore is painful. Unfortunately, change is inevitable within the manufacturing and marketing industry because of its competitiveness. The collaboration was expected to expand both companies' networks, to create new innovations, and "to boost Nestle's brand as new products will be launched in due time while the consistency of the same will be ensured." Personally, I don't agree with this quotation because when a company/brand deals with a big change (i.e. partnerships, new CEOs/manufacturers) nothing really stays the same. For the most part, many are looking forward to this new drink, but many are also devastated about having a part of our childhood removed from our lives.
