Colorado funeral homeowners, Jon and Carie Hallford, pleaded guilty to corpse abuse as they were accused of piling and hiding 190 bodies inside a building and deceived grieving relatives by giving them fake ashes. The couple "used customers' money and nearly $900,000 in pandemic relief funds to buy laser body sculpting, fancy cars, trips to Las Vegas and Florida, $31,000 in cryptocurrency and other luxury items [according to court records]." The Hallford's spent extravagantly and lived lavishly after committing fraud against customers. The bodies were investigated by authorities and found poorly stored and "stacked a top each other, some swarming with insects." Just imagine how the relatives of the deceased reacted when they discovered this: absolutely devastating. After finding out the dead body of one's child, parent or loved one is still languishing in a building, and was actually not the cremated ashes that were spread in a place that holds sentiment and memory is dreadful. All the effort these relatives made to give the deceased an easy rest and a proper farewell was wasted. From a public view, it's impossible to believe that cruelty to this extent still lives in many, with no remorse whatsoever. Taking money from the ones who are evidently suffering, only to use it for your own leisure and luxury, is absolutely inhuman, and the fact that they've pleaded guilty is a gracious blessing to all.
