Increased transit, ferry service in effect to give Swifties a ‘Getaway Car’ from concerts

December 6, 7, and 8 were probably the most hectic days yet for transit facilitators this year. As Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour came to an end with Vancouver being its last stop, tens of thousands of locals need ways of transportation to get to and from BC Place. “TransLink says it’s ensuring there will be a ‘Getaway Car’ available for fans – in the form of increased public transit.” The bus schedules ran faster than on regular days, more SkyTrain and ferries were put out just to get fans to the venue on time. Essentially, they’ve shortened the bus intervals and extended transit curfews, which is incredibly efficient. Facilities even “[rolled] out special Swift shuttles to transport fans between Waterfront station and BC Place. Taylor Swift is an artist who is wholeheartedly loved and supported by so many people. She was a big part of my childhood and an inspiration to others. Knowing the closure of her biggest world tour is being held in Vancouver, a place where big artists don’t usually add to their world tour’s map, the locals went crazy. The increase in public transit must have saved one too many lives struggling to get to the concert. Transit facilities were very sympathetic with these Swifties, and their patience and understanding were definitely much appreciated.
